Licence, network, transparency, follow-up… Before entrusting your career to an agent, here are the questions that make the difference.

Signing with an agent means entrusting part of your career to someone. The choice therefore deserves careful thought. Here are the five questions we advise every player, and their family, to ask before committing.

1. Are they licensed?

Football agents must hold a licence issued by FIFA. Ask to see your contact’s licence: it is the first guarantee of professionalism.

2. How many players do they represent?

An agent who manages too many players cannot give each of them the time they need. Ask how day-to-day follow-up works and who your contact person will be.

3. What is their network?

Clubs, scouts, brands: a good network opens doors. Ask about the leagues they know and the opportunities they have already turned into reality.

4. How are they paid?

Remuneration must be clear from the start and written down in black and white. A transparent agent explains plainly what they receive, when and why.

5. What do they offer beyond the contract?

Image, financial and legal advice, preparing life after football: a career is not just about a signature. Make sure the support also covers what happens off the pitch.

A good agent does not promise everything: they explain everything.
